Blog #6

When I first saw these two articles “Before I Go” and “My Marriage Didn’t End When I Became a Widow” the first thing that came to my mind was that we were going to be talking about life. People need to understand that we cannot take life for granted. Life is way to precious to not fulfill the things you want to do.            When reading “Before I Go” it got me thinking a lot. I grandfather died from cancer about six years ago so when I was reading this and watching the video it made me think of him. The video made me somewhat relate and understand more about how life is precious. What I got from this is that we all need to be positive about everything we do in life. We don’t need to focus on the negative side of things because that only will bring us down more. The way Paul was speaking about his lung cancer brought out somethings to me. The way he handled having cancer and living with it was very good. He brought out the good in things and I think that is what made him strong and with all he loves he had from his family. When reading “My Marriage Didn’t End When I Was a Widow” shows me that you can also overcome things. The way Tracy handled her husband’s death was very strong. Her husband left behind their daughter as well and is in the hands on her mother. Tracy loved Paul and would do anything for him. What I got out of this is that anytime we lose something we dearly love we should think about the positive side of it.            The Kalanithis have a very strong voice that bring people to watch, read, and listen to what had happened to them. By them being positive and going through this makes them even stronger than you would think.
