Blog #10

In my life, I have experienced some good times and some bad times. Those bad times have taught me a lot about life and how we need to get through them. The best piece of advice I have ever gotten has to be to love yourself before you can love others. My mother gave me this advice after a hard time in my life. I have taken this advice more serious this past semester. All throughout my life I have been a people pleaser. I like to make everyone around me happy before I make myself happy. My mom has told me time and time again that I need to start loving myself and making myself happy first before others. She has seen me in ways that nobody else has. This semester I took this advice and started using it. This advice has helped me through all the things that have been going on. I can honestly say I love the person who I am becoming more and more every day. My friends and family have also noticed a huge difference in me and how I act. They see me smile and laugh more than I ever had before. They see the brighter side of me because I have started seeing the brighter side in me as well. I wish I would have taken this advice a lot earlier in life when my mom first told me because I see how much it has affected me and others around me. I am so very blessed with a mother that looks out for my happiness and who I am because without my mother’s love and support I don’t think I would be the person I am today without her. The saying that everyone knows “mom know best” is very true. Without this advice, I feel like I would still be the person I was and not the person I am today.
